The management and team at Pacific Helicopters believe that truly effective safety management producing constant safe outcomes will only occur when a safety culture permeates the whole organisation. Our professionally manned and expertly run Aviation Safety Management and Quality Assurance System favourably compares to any other approved and certified system in the world. Coupled with professionalism and respect for the environment across our entire team, we are proud to be the first choice in aviation services for the Oil, Gas, Mining, Construction and Telecommunications Industries here in PNG.
To this end Pacific believe that safety is not just a word, or part of a slogan, but is a culture that’s nurtured and promoted throughout the company by individual action and example, it’s the way we “all” strive to do things here.
A key factor in enhancing our position in helicopter safety is a management system which identifies key safety performance indicators, tracking them throughout the company. Our CEO and Senior Management are directly responsible and accountable for the protection and safety of our clients, assets, employees, contractors, the public, and the immediate workplace and surrounding environment. Team members are not assigned responsibilities and tasks without the commensurate experience, training, qualifications, skills and competencies necessary to undertake their assigned role safely and effectively. We provide full transparency to our clients and employees on all highlighted issues, and have policies and protocol in place to quickly resolve them.
With the blessing of the CEO any staff member regardless of rank is entitled to stop operations if they believe that acts are being undertaken that may risk life or cause injury are occurring within their work environment.

To complement our safety policies, and maintain a watch on all of Pacific’s helicopters they are fitted with the latest global positioning systems (GPS) tracking devices. In order for our operations team to effectively mange our fleet, Sky Connect or spidertack systems are in place, which utilise the iridium global satellite network and provide Pacific Helicopters and our clients with real time aircraft positioning. These systems are world’s best practice equipment and the most efficient and optimum method for Pacific Helicopters and our customers to maximise safety and efficiency for the very demanding missions in PNG.
